Albert Einstein once said, “Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value.” I believe that is how you can define the success found at Oklahoma State University. It is not about how many students we have enrolled, how many diplomas we give out, or even whether or not we house the next big thing, it is more about the people of value that our university creates. At Oklahoma State students learn more about the value of hard work and dedication than the value of the dollar. We are taught by great minds who want us to become a success by becoming a people of value. Not only do our professors and staff want to see us fulfill our dreams but they want what can only be described as us achieving success in life and in further education. They provide the necessary tools for success with their hard work and dedication to their craft. Oklahoma States’ drive for success is further illustrated but the countless number of organizations on campus that promote diversity and help charitable organizations that were created by students and staff who genuinely want to bring change and success and spread knowledge about culture and causes. Success at Oklahoma State can not be measured in dollar and cents, but in hearts and value. OSU students are taught to not only succeed in the workplace and home but to grow as individuals and help create a world that will be better for themselves and those around them. There seems to be a general consensus in the value system that Oklahoma State strives toward, our university wants to create a new generation of individuals who care more about the world and people around them than what is deposited into their bank account.
